Come share in our weekly services.
Sing. Pray. Listen. Discover.
In these important aspects of worship you find the "gentle presence" of God, spoken of in this hymn by Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science.
O gentle presence, peace and joy and power;
O Life divine, that owns each waiting hour,
Thou Love that guards the nestling’s faltering flight!
Keep Thou my child on upward wing tonight.

First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois was founded to share Christian Science with the surrounding communities in DuPage County. We provide services and activities with a healing purpose, based on the Bible and writings of Mary Baker Eddy. We hope you will come and be inspired with us.
Our Sunday Service Includes:
Hymns, scriptural selection, silent prayer and the Lord's prayer with its spiritual interpretation, announcements, musical solo, Bible lesson-sermon, collection and closing benediction.
We have two Communion services a year. In them, the subject of Sacrament is explored in the Bible Lesson Sermon. These services do not include the ritual communion with bread and wine but point instead to a deep and sincere communion with divine Love that we all need in order to grow spiritually. Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, wrote in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures: If all who ever partook of the sacrament had really commemorated the sufferings of Jesus and drunk of his cup, they would have revolutionized the world. If all who seek his commemoration through material symbols will take up the cross, heal the sick, cast out evils, and preach Christ, or Truth, to the poor, — the receptive thought, — they will bring in the millennium. (Page 34)
Our Communion service, on July 8th, will provide many helpful answers about how to "put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." You will hear what the symbols of bread, wine and drinking Christ's cup mean spiritually, and how to apply these ideas in your life.
We welcome everyone on Sundays to hear enriching spiritual concepts to make practical in your life by healing large and small challenges. Our Pastor is always available and consists of two books: the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
These are upcoming subjects for our Bible lesson sermons:
• July 8: Sacrament
• July 15: God
• July 22: Life
• July 29: Truth

Weekly Testimony Meeting
On Wednesdays, at 7:30 pm, our testimony meeting provides a time to sing together and to listen to readings that bring spiritual understanding to a relevant topic. Sometimes it's hard to know how to deal with world crises and problems that weigh heavily on society. This meeting gives you a mid-week mental lift that lightens the load and can melt away these stressful impositions.
The last half hour of our Wednesday evening meeting is a time for audience members to share healings and inspiration that have resulted from their practice of Christian Science. Those attending have the opportunity to testify to the saving and transformative power of Christ, active in their daily lives.
People of all faiths are invited to our services. Our church government is democratic and we have no clergy. Church officers are elected from the membership and include a First Reader and Second Reader who read the Sunday sermon from our "Pastor" – two books – the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. This Bible Lesson Sermon, from the Christian Science Quarterly, is read in all Christian Science churches throughout the world each Sunday.
