Forgiving ourselves and others

As these verses in two Christian Science hymns illustrate, forgiveness is transformative and brings peace. This is a natural occurrence as we seek to see ourselves and our fellow man as God made us.

Jesus, what precept is like thine:
Forgive, as ye would be forgiven;
If heeded, O what power divine
Would then transform our earth to heaven.
(Hymn #163)

Then, brother man, fold to thy heart thy brother,
For where love dwells, the peace of God is there:
To worship rightly is to love each other;
Each smile a hymn, each kindly deed a prayer.
(Hymn #217)

Join us this Wednesday, September 16, for our Testimony Meeting. You will hear readings on forgiveness with passages from the Bible and from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. There will also be time for those present to share healings and inspiration, and quiet time as well.
