Finding hope and happiness

The name Asher means “happy” in Hebrew. Asher was one of the twelve sons of Jacob. Here is a spiritual definition of Asher given in the Christian Science textbook:

Asher (Jacob’s son). Hope and faith; spiritual compensation; the ills of the flesh rebuked. (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy)

To find happiness we can look beyond what the material senses report. Or, beyond what social media, TV, or even co-workers and relatives might be saying.

With hope and faith we confidently place our trust in God. This Wednesday we will have readings about hope and happiness. Through his healing and teaching, Christ Jesus taught us to lift thoughts beyond the limits of the physical and keep them attuned to Spirit.

Join us on Wednesday, November 26, at 7:30 pm in the Roosevelt Room at Brookdale of Glen Ellyn, 60 Nicoll Avenue, right behind Aldi”s. You can also join us by Zoom.
