The Christian Science Pastor

Mary Baker Eddy, the discoverer and founder of Christian Science, ordained the Bible, and her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, as Pastor over the Christian Science churches. She said, “they will continue to preach for this Church and the world”. (Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 58)

The sermons of this spiritual Pastor are made up of selections from the two books and published in the Bible Lessons of the Christian Science Quarterly. (Click to our previous blog post for more details.) Christian Scientists throughout the world study these readings during the week before they are read in churches on Sunday.

The readings at our weekly Testimony Meeting are also chosen from our impartial Pastor. This week, November 12, you can get an idea of how God speaks to all of us through our Pastor. Join us at 7:30 pm this Wednesday in the Roosevelt Room at Brookdale in Glen Ellyn—60 Nicoll Avenue, next to Aldi’s. Everyone is welcome and we provide the meeting by Zoom as well.
