Redeemed from violence
The Bible contrasts two different views of creation: Genesis chapter 1—God’s spiritual, real creation; and Genesis chapter 2—the myth about man made from dust or matter. In the mythical version we hear of Cain and Abel, a story of the violent killing of Abel by his jealous brother, Cain.
The Bible also includes the New Testament of love which reverses the old belief of “an eye for an eye” or retribution. Christ Jesus taught and practiced this divine idea of love which reflected his Father-Mother God’s love.
There is so much inspiration to counteract and heal violence in the Bible and in Mary Baker Eddy’s book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Our Testimony Meeting this Wednesday, July 30, at 7:30 pm will include readings from our Pastor—the two books mentioned above—on this subject. Mary Baker Eddy is the discoverer and founder of Christian Science.
Everyone is invited to come in person to Brookdale in Glen Ellyn or join us by Zoom. The second half of the meeting will be open for testimonies of healing and sharing inspiration.
