How silently

Sometimes the Spirit comes so quietly that meekness, or a silent self, is needed to hear it in thought. This idea is whispered in the Christmas hymn O, little town of Bethlehem:

How silently, how silently,
The wondrous gift is given;
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of His heaven.
No ear may hear his coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meekness will receive him, still
The dear Christ enters in.

Wouldn’t we all like to take some time during the busy holidays to listen quietly for “the dear Christ to enter in”? Let the Gospel “on earth peace, good-will toward men” be heard.

We invite you to hear more on this subject at our upcoming Wednesday Testimony Meeting. There will also be time for those attending to share inspiration and testimonies of healing. The meeting on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24th, will be held by Zoom only. The link is available here and everyone is welcome.
