Liberty for all

The liberty God gives can’t be constrained or voided by human governments. The history of the United States shows the natural human longing for freedom and the immense desire to fight for it and maintain it.

The Declaration of Independence articulates the ideals of our democracy. In a similar way, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, declared the principles of our free spiritual consciousness—an expression of divine Mind.

Like our nation, Christian Science has its Declaration of Independence. God has endowed man with inalienable rights, among which are self-government, reason, and conscience. Man is properly self-governed only when he is guided rightly and governed by his Maker, divine Truth and Love. (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, page 106, by Mary Baker Eddy.)

Come for some ideas about liberty and its spiritual meaning at our weekly Testimony Meeting on Wednesday, July 2 at 7:30 pm (Central). We begin with readings in the Roosevelt Room at Brookdale of Glen Ellyn or by Zoom. We also sing hymns and share inspiration and healings we have experienced through Christian Science. Everyone is welcome!
