The way home
In the Bible, Jesus shared a story about a lost sheep being searched for and found by the concerned Shepherd. The wandering one is restored back home with joy. This illustrated our ever-watchful God, divine Love, who forgives mistakes and brings mankind back into harmonious and good living.
Wandering from one pleasure to the next without purpose and wasting his resources, was the situation of the prodigal son. In this parable, Jesus shows the younger son squandering his inheritance. After much adversity and self-realization, he finds his way back home.
Come unto me, ye weary,
And I will give you rest.…
Come unto me, ye wanderers
And I will give you light.
(Christian Science Hymnal, hymn 43)
This evening you can hear how the Father touchingly forgives and welcomes the wanderer back home. The Glen Ellyn Christian Science Society’s Testimony Meeting, on June 25, 2025, begins at 7:30 pm. We welcome everyone to the meeting in the Roosevelt Room at Brookdale in Glen Ellyn or by Zoom. After the readings there will be an opportunity to share your healings and inspiration.
