The listening ear

Are we listening to or turning away from spiritual thoughts from God? Sometimes the world—with its news, complaints, longings, disasters and mess ups—tries to crowd out the pure voice of Spirit.

The topic of the readings at our Testimony Meeting on Wednesday, October 22, will zero in on hearing—a faculty of divine Mind which God’s children reflect. The Bible readings lift us to a more spiritual sense of hearing. Those readings will be accompanied by passages read from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which is quoted below:

Christianity causes men to turn naturally from matter to Spirit, as the flower turns from darkness to light. Man then appropriates those things which “eye hath not seen nor ear heard.” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, pp. 458:32–3)
