Harvest Time

Referring to the parable from Jesus of the tares and the wheat, Mary Baker Eddy writes this in her book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures:

The temporal and unreal never touch the eternal and real. The mutable and imperfect never touch the immutable and perfect. The inharmonious and self-destructive never touch the harmonious and self-existent. These opposite qualities are the tares and wheat, which never really mingle, though (to mortal sight) they grow side by side until the harvest; then, Science separates the wheat from the tares, through the realization of God as ever present and of man as reflecting the divine likeness.
(Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 300)

The readings tonight, October 21, will explore the spiritual significance of Harvest Time.

We hope you can join us for our Wednesday Testimony Meeting. The opening readings are from the Bible, as well as from the Christian Science textbook mentioned above, Science and Health, with key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. Everyone is invited to share healings and inspiration during the last half hour and have quiet time as well.

We begin at 7:30 pm, in person at Brookdale of Glen Ellyn. Tonight, we will meet in the Activity Room. Just ask the receptionist for directions. Or, you can always join us by Zoom. Gather with us tonight for uplifting ideas to kick off the harvest season. All are welcome!

One by one, pure thoughts and holy
Lift us out of self and sin;
One by one, bright gleams of glory
Show the goal we all will win. ...

(Christian Science Hymnal, No. 554)
